POWER TRANSMISSION & DISTRIBUTION (PTD) PRODUCTS

Transformers

A transformer is an essential electrical device used to transfer electrical energy between circuits through electromagnetic induction, enabling voltage level adjustments in power systems. Commonly used in generation, transmission, and distribution networks, transformers step up or step-down voltage levels to ensure efficient power delivery and minimal losses. Types include power transformers, distribution transformers, and instrument transformers, each designed for specific applications and load capacities. With advanced insulation systems, cooling methods (oil or air), and protective features, modern transformers offer high reliability, low maintenance, and long service life — making them vital for stable and efficient electrical infrastructure.

At International Electrical Technic, we deliver high-performance transformer solutions designed to power infrastructure, industry, and utility networks across East Africa. From distribution to power transformers, our products ensure efficient voltage regulation, reduced energy losses, and long-term reliability. Whether you’re expanding your grid, upgrading substations, or integrating renewable energy, our expert team provides end-to-end support — from sizing and supply to installation and maintenance. Built to international standards and tailored to your needs, our transformers are the backbone of dependable energy systems. Power your progress with engineering you can trust.

Ring Main Unit (RMU)

A Ring Main Unit (RMU) is a compact, sealed switchgear solution used in medium-voltage power distribution networks to ensure reliable and safe operation. RMUs typically include circuit breakers, load break switches, and protection relays, allowing for sectionalizing and fault isolation without service interruption. Widely used in industrial, commercial, and utility applications, RMUs support ring and radial network configurations and are essential in improving power system reliability and maintainability. Their gas-insulated or air-insulated designs offer minimal maintenance, compact footprints, and enhanced safety, making them ideal for urban substations, renewable energy integration, and grid automation projects.

Automatic Voltage Regulators

These are 11kV Automatic Voltage Regulators that maintain a stable and consistent output voltage automatically, even when input voltage fluctuates. The load changes in the electrical systems over the years cause voltage imbalances in the energy supply system. This case damages the power quality. To correct this, the AVR detects changes in voltage and adjusts the system to compensate, protecting attached devices from voltage spikes, sags and other irregularities.

Termination kits

Termination kits are critical components used to safely connect the ends of medium and high-voltage power cables to electrical equipment such as switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, and junction boxes. They ensure the cable’s insulation and shielding are properly terminated, preventing electrical stress, moisture ingress, and mechanical failure..
